We are actively involved in defamation matters. Some matters can be favorably settled yet others proceed to hearing. One of our closely contested cases went on appeal to the High Court and was remitted to the Supreme Court of NSW for rehearing which is completed and it then progressed to the NSW Court of Appeal which found in favour of our client the defendants unsuccessfully applied to the High Court for Special Leave to appeal. Our clients were paid damages.
We represented the plaintiffs in Gacic v John Fairfax Publications Pty Ltd and Matthew Evans.
